Yesterday was spent at wine country.
Each year we go in the spring it just always amazes me how dense green everything is.
There is a sweet freshness out there in those valley's that fills you body and soul.
We tasted many delightful wines both white and red. I fixed a picnic lunch which we ate at on Sweet Cheeks winery's patio. The two hills on which the winery is perched is said to look like two plump sweet cheeks, thus the name.
It was humid yesterday and is today also, my shirt feels damp and clings to my body.
I just came in from outdoors and it feels like the tropic's. Our first time to the Caribbean as we walked down the steps from the plane into the humidity we were overwhelmed. Assaulted by heat and a dampness filled with ocean and flowers settled into our skin. Today's humidity does not have the lingering scents of the sea and flowers but of fresh grass and nature pushing up out of the warm steaming earth. Still amazing in it's own way.
I am going to make this short today as I have much to do.
Tonight in Zo's Kitchen we will dine on grilled dogs stuffed into toasted buns with my zucchini relish, mustard and sweet onions. To the side we are having my husbands cucumber salad that he made this morning. This salad reminds him of his childhood. It will be the perfect accompaniment for the hot dogs. He is also cooking tomorrow nights meal I love that, a night out of the kitchen.
Till later.
